A 24-year-old man took three kilograms of gingerbread and 27 chocolates from a grocery store. He planned to sell the loot at the market. They detained him in front of the court building, where he lost strength and was no longer able to escape.

City guards from a specialist unit, patrolling the vicinity of the Wola district office on Tuesday morning, December 10, noticed a young man running through the busy dual carriageway of Solidarności Avenue, escaping from a security guard at a nearby store.

“They joined the chase. They detained the fugitive in front of the court building. He had three kilograms of gingerbread and 27 chocolate bars with a total value of approximately PLN 270,” the release said.

He didn't hide the fact that he stole everything.

“He admitted that he intended to sell the loot at the market to have money for beer and other stimulants,” it added.

Half an hour later, the 24-year-old was taken over by the police.
