As promised, he did so. Rafał Nowak, a volunteer firefighter from OSP Tarce, ran 300 kilometers to publicize the problem of two-year-old Zuzia and other children suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). He submitted the petition to the office of the President of the Republic of Poland. The drug that can stop the disease is not reimbursed in Poland, and the treatment costs about PLN 10 million.

Volunteer firefighter from the Volunteer Fire Department Tarce Rafał Nowak ran over 300 kilometers – on Tuesday he set off from the house of two-year-old Zuzia Sulecka in Smogoriew (Wielkopolska), and on Friday before 16 arrived in front of the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

The firefighter decided to publicize the problem of SMA

Here he submitted a petition to the office of President Andrzej Duda regarding the reimbursement of a modern method that could save the lives of Zuzia and other children who are in a similar situation. The therapy costs PLN 10 million and it must be applied as soon as possible for it to be effective and reverse the effects of SMA.

We could see the report about Mr. Rafał’s idea in the Polska i Świat TVN24 magazine.

The man did not hide that collecting money and submitting a petition is only part of what he wants to get. His main goal was to publicize this problem.
