Two passenger cars collided on Wednesday morning in Wawer. According to the police, one person was injured. In turn, our reporter warns: the roads are very slippery today.
The collision occurred around 7 o’clock at the intersection of Lucerny and Mrówcza streets. – There was a head-on collision of two passenger cars: Toyota and Mercedes – said Artur Węgrzynowicz from tvnwarszawa.pl.
As he added, two people traveled in the cars. – They were given medical assistance on the spot – reported Węgrzynowicz.
Edyta Adamus from the press department of the Warsaw Police Headquarters said in turn that eventually one person was hospitalized, driving the Toyota. – The drivers were sober. The first information shows that the perpetrator is the driver of a Mercedes, which turned left and did not give way, she said.
There were major difficulties in traffic. Lucerne by Mrówcza was blocked. The buses took detours. – As I found on the spot, driving straight said that she skidded on a very slippery road. Even though the road is dark in color, when you step on it, you will see a layer of ice. Braking even at low speeds causes the car to skid – warned Węgrzynowicz.
Spreaders on bridges and viaducts
According to the Municipal Cleaning Authority, 42 spreaders appeared on the streets of Warsaw on Wednesday.
“Due to the weather conditions, the action of city cleaning services began at 4:30. The spreaders operate on Warsaw bridges, viaducts and streets such as Dolna, Belwederska or Spacerowa. This is a total of 230 kilometers of roads” – we read in the ZOM release . As officials assure, the City Cleaning Authority checks the condition of the street pavement around the clock. “It monitors the current meteorological data and weather forecasts. If necessary, it will commission another action. The Municipal Cleaning Authority is responsible only for the streets used by public buses. This is part of Warsaw’s streets, the remaining ones are cleaned, among others, at the request of district offices” – they resemble.
