The Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, announced the allocation of additional funds for health care. PLN 1.6 billion is to be allocated to oncology and hospitals, mainly district ones.

Minister Adam Niedzielski spoke on Thursday at a conference together with the deputy minister Waldemar Kraska and president National Health Fund Filip Nowak.

He announced two measures to increase expenditures on health. – The first one concerns financial support for oncology and this is obviously related to the implementation of the national oncology network (…). We have an implemented oncology strategy and we are taking actions that are the first steps with such a practical, nationwide implementation of the national oncology network – said the minister.

– In addition to this instrument focused on oncology, today we also want to inform you about the increase in funding for hospitals, primarily district hospitals – he added.

Niedzielski: additional PLN 1.6 billion in the May step

Boss health ministry he said that this is a response to local needs related to the availability of treatment and more advanced diagnostics in hospitals. – We decided to increase the financing of hospitals, especially district ones, firstly by introducing a solution that helps those hospitals that have not paid the lump sum – he pointed out.

– Secondly, we are changing valuations in internal medicine, i.e. in the scope of procedures that is characteristic of hospitals, primarily district ones, those that provide basic care – he said.

In total – as announced by Niedzielski – the amount of PLN 1.6 billion will go to the health care system “in May step”.
