Another meeting between the Protesting and Strike Committee of Healthcare and the Ministry of Health has ended. There is still no agreement between the parties. – We approach negotiations as if they were therapy. And what? It can be said that there is no oxygen for the ventilator, because the ministry does not want to connect it, so the system is suffocating – said Artur Drobniak, vice-president of the Supreme Medical Council on behalf of the protesters.
The sixth meeting between the protesting health care workers and the Ministry of Health took place at the “Dialog” Social Partnership Center in Warsaw.
Artur Drobniak, vice-president of the Supreme Medical Council, spoke on behalf of the protesters. – Today there has been a turning point in the talks. Not to the turning point that we and our patients expected – he said.
– Currently, the patient is the Polish health care system. We approach negotiations as therapy. And what? And it can be said that there is no oxygen for the respirator, because the ministry does not want to connect it, so the system is suffocating – he said.
Drobniak reported that the health minister presented “a pattern of misunderstanding that had nothing to do with the meaning of the word agreement.” – This is a creation that was not discussed with us at all, it is not the result of these three-week-long talks that were held here – he said. – There are no details, there is no guarantee of their implementation, there is no real financing, there are no funds to be spent on treatment, there are no dates and details of legislative initiatives – he mentioned.
– Everything is to be approved by the Tripartite Team. It is not an agreement or understanding by the rulers. This is a misunderstanding of the problem of Polish patients – he concluded. He added that there was “nothing new” in the proposed agreement. – The government turns its eyes away from the suffering of Polish patients – noted Drobniak.
He expects that a representative of the Ministry of Health, Deputy Minister Piotr Bromber, will soon visit journalists.
Previous talks between the protesters and representatives of the health ministry took place on September 21, 23, 28, 30 and October 5.
