Passengers arriving at Heathrow airport are reporting delays of a number of hours because of failing self-service passport gates.
Travellers at Terminal 5 have shared pictures of lengthy queues on social media, whereas others stated they had been being held on planes because of the congestion.
One particular person reported an anticipated ready time of two to 4 hours for arriving passengers.
Confirming the issue on Twitter, Heathrow stated the fault lay with Border Power, which manages the gates.
It stated: “We’re conscious of a difficulty impacting the e-gates, that are staffed and operated by Border Power. We apologise for the influence that is having in your journey.
“Our groups are working carefully with Border Power to resolve this as shortly as potential.”
It comes lower than two weeks after the e-gates failed at airports across the UK.
