The heat on Sunday will change its location, because the hot mass is moving to the east – said Tomasz Wasilewski in “You get up and weekend”. As he explained, behind the atmospheric front, which will bring rain and storms, cooler air flows into Poland, which everyone will feel at the beginning of the week.

Saturday was the warmest day since the beginning of the year. The highest temperature of 35.5 degrees Celsius was measured in Wielichów in the west of Wielkopolska. The second place in the ranking of the hottest places was taken by Słubice (Lubuskie Voivodeship), where it was 34.5 degrees Celsius.

– We had the epicenter of heat in western Poland and it will be the same with the heat today, only it will slightly change its position, because the hot mass is moving east – said tvnmeteo.pl presenter Tomasz Wasilewski on TVN24.

Hot air flowed into Central Europe from Africa. Even higher temperatures were recorded by our neighbors. In several places it was over 38 degrees, and the warmest, 38.6 degrees Celsius, was in Pilzno-Bolevci and in Rzeż near Prague.

The heat will subside at the beginning of the week

Cooler air on the Old Continent currently prevails in northern France, the Benelux countries and the British Isles, which – as Wasilewski announced – “is heading our way behind the atmospheric front that is passing over Poland today”. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast in some regions.

On Sunday morning, rainfall occurs in the western part of the country. As the tvnmeteo.pl presenter explained, they are associated with a cold front and a low pressure system from Scandinavia. “The front is moving very slowly and a little bit to the east and a little bit to the north-east, so it’s going to take a long time to travel,” he said.

– The hot air that flows in front of the front will accompany us – said Wasilewski on TVN24. The temperature in the eastern half of the country on Sunday will rise to around 35 degrees Celsius. The inhabitants of the western regions can breathe a sigh of relief from the over 30-degree heat on Sunday, and everyone will feel cool from Tuesday. Thermometers will show over 25 degrees C, so it will still be very warm.
