The weather will worsen at the beginning of the week. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued warnings for the southern parts of Poland, where heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued weather warnings.
IMWM warnings – heavy rainfall
First-degree warnings against heavy rainfall are in force in the province Lower Silesianin the following counties: Zgorzelec, Lubań, Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, WalbrzychKłodzko, Ząbkowice, Dzierżoniów, Świdnica, Jawor, Złotoryja.
Rainfall is forecast to be moderate, with periods of heavy rainfall, totalling 25 to 35 litres per square metre. The warnings will come into effect at 3am on Monday and expire at 2pm that day.
IMWM warnings – strong wind
The lowest level warnings have also been issued due to strong winds. They apply to the following provinces:
- Lower Silesiapoviats: Lubań, Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia Góra, Kamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, Wałbrzych, Kłodzko;
- OpolePrudnik and GÅ‚ubczyce counties;
- Silesiancounties: Cieszyn, Żywiec, Bielsko-BialaBielski;
- Lesser Polandcounties: Sucha, Nowy Targ, Tatra.
Forecasters are predicting strong southerly winds with an average speed of up to 35 kilometres per hour, with gusts of up to 75 km/h.
In Lower Silesia and the Opole region the warnings will be valid on Monday from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m., while in the remaining regions on Monday from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m.
What is the first-degree IMWM meteorological warning?
First-degree warning predicts conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and threaten health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from conducting activities in the area of ​​the threat, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation.
