In the coming days, Poland will be under the influence of a low pressure system for a while, which will bring heavy rainfall locally. Thick clouds will hang over our country at least until the weekend.
tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek explained that a low-pressure system is moving over Poland from south to north, bringing rainfall. On Thursday afternoon, its center will move beyond the eastern borders of the country, and the rainfall will begin to disappear. However, cool and moist polar air flows from the north-west.
On the night from Thursday to Friday and on Friday, Poland will be under the influence of another rainy low moving from northern Italy towards the Carpathians. The southern regions of the country will be in the zone of heavy rainfall first, and on Friday also the east of Poland.
Weather for Thursday and Friday
Thursday in western and southern Poland promises to be cloudy with showers. In the northern regions, rainfall of up to 10-15 liters of rain per square meter is expected, otherwise it will drop to 1-5 l/sq m in some places. It will begin to rain heavily in the Carpathians on the night from Thursday to Friday. Thermometers will show from 10 degrees Celsius in the Warmia and Suwałki regions, through 11-12 degrees C in the central regions to 14 degrees C in the Lublin region and Podkarpacie. In the west, there will be a northerly, otherwise south-westerly, weak and moderate wind.
On Friday, in the south and southeast of the country there will be heavy cloudiness and rainfall up to 20 l/sq m, in the Carpathians up to 40 l/sq m. Weaker rainfall up to 5 l/sq m. are expected in the center and west of Poland. The temperature will range from a maximum of 11-12 degrees C in the south, east and central regions to 15 degrees C in Western Pomerania. The north-eastern wind will be moderate, sometimes quite strong.
Weather for the weekend
On Saturday, the weakening front associated with the low will still remain over Poland, but on Sunday the rain should completely disappear. In total, by Saturday, rainfall in Poland may reach up to 30-50 l/sq m in some places, and in the mountains up to 80 l/sq m. The Urban high, which is developing on the western edge of the low-pressure vortex, is expected to attract cold air masses from the north. During the weekend, it will additionally favor the formation of low, autumn stratus clouds.
Saturday will bring us generally cloudy skies with rainfall of up to 1-5 l/sq m. Only in the north there will be clear showers and there will be no rain. The thermometers will show from 10 degrees C in Silesia, through 11 degrees C in the center of the country to 14 degrees C in Pomerania. Light to moderate winds will blow from the northeast.
On Sunday, Poland will be cloudy with some showers, and there may be fog in some places. Thermometers will indicate from 11 degrees C in Podkarpacie, through 13 degrees C in the central regions, to 15 degrees C in Western Pomerania and the Lubusz region. The wind will generally be east and weak.
Weather for Monday
On Monday, when warmer air begins to push in from the south, the clouds are expected to break up and disappear, making way for sunny weather. The day will bring a lot of clear weather. The maximum temperature will range from 15 degrees C in the north-east, through 17 degrees C in the center of the country to 18 degrees C in the south-west. Light and moderate winds will blow mainly from the east to the south, only in the east it will be north.
