The police detained a 35-year-old perpetrator of “another sexual activity” that allegedly took place in one of the stores in Chełm (Lublin Voivodeship). The officers established his identity thanks to witnesses who recognized the man in the recording published by the police.
The incident took place in mid-August in a store at Lubelska Street in Chełm. “The unidentified perpetrator caused the client there to engage in another sexual activity,” the Chełm police reported at the time.
The District Prosecutor’s Office in Chełm initiated an investigation into this case. The police secured a surveillance video with the image of the perpetrator, which was published on the website of the Chełm police station.
Thanks to monitoring and witnesses, they detained a 35-year-old man
“The very next day we received reports that allowed us to identify his identity,” said Commissioner Ewa Czyż, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Chełm.
The policewoman added that he was a 35-year-old from the Hrubieszów district. “The man was detained on Friday afternoon and the next day he was taken to the prosecutor’s office, where he was charged,” she said.
He faces prison
A preventive measure was applied to the detainee in the form of police supervision combined with a ban on contacting and approaching the injured party and a ban on leaving the country.
This act is punishable by up to eight years’ imprisonment.
