The Olympic Games in Paris are slowly coming to an end. The 13th day of competition is behind us. Arkadiusz Kułynych had a chance to win a medal for Poland, among others. However, the wrestler lost 1:3 to the Ukrainian Zhan Beleniuk and the bronze medal went beyond our eastern border. The kayakers Karolina Naja, Anna Puławska, Adrianna Kąkol and Dominika Putto also missed out on a medal by centimeters. They missed the lowest step of the podium by only… 0.24 seconds.
Thursday without a medal for Poland. The White and Reds fall in the standings
This leaves Poland with six medals left. Aleksandra Mirosław won the gold medal in the speed climbing competition. Aleksandra Kałucka added a bronze medal in the same competition. Klaudia Zwolińska, a whitewater kayaker in the K-1 category, won silver. The Polish épée fencers also did great, defeating the Chinese after a thrilling fight and taking bronze. The medal made of the same metal hung around the necks of our rowers, as well as Iga Świątek.
The lack of further medals resulted in Poland's drop in the medal standings at the Olympic Games. Our country currently ranks 39th – after Wednesday it was 34th. Just ahead are the Greeks and Ecuadorians. The United States has been consistently at the top for several days now. They have won as many as 103 medals, including 30 gold. China has two fewer medals in the most precious metal – 72 medals in total. The provisional podium is currently completed by Australia – 44 medals, including 18 gold.

Julia Szeremeta is in an identical situation. The 20-year-old boxer is an absolute revelation at the games. Along the way, she defeated much more experienced rivals, and now she will face Lin Yu-ting for the Olympic championship.
Klaudia Kazimierska will also have a chance at a medal in the 1500 m race – she advanced to the final on Thursday. Adrianna Sułek-Schubert, a representative of Poland in the heptathlon, is still fighting for the top places.
