Today it is very clear why Law and Justice was betting on the most important state institutions. Not only to manually control them, but to make money from it – said the deputy head of the Ministry of Justice, Krzysztof Śmiszek, in “Kropka nad i”, commenting on the high awards for the president of the NBP. Polish 2050 MP Ryszard Petru stated that “the bringing of President Adam Glapiński before the State Tribunal is getting closer and closer.”
Deputy Minister of Justice Krzysztof Śmiszek (New Left) and the Polish 2050 MP, chairman of the parliamentary committee on economy and development Ryszard Petru, talked in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24, among others, about large prizes paid to the president of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński.
On Saturday, Paweł Mucha, member of the NBP management board, revealed on social media the resolution of the NBP management board from 2019 regarding awards for the top management of the central bank. “The awards of the President of the NBP are for the first quarter – 3 times, for the second quarter – 3.5 times, for the third quarter – 4 times, and for the fourth quarter – 4.5 times the monthly remuneration calculated as an equivalent for holiday leave” – he reported on the website , making the texts of the resolution available.
As Śmiszek said, “money flowed from the National Bank of Poland into the pockets of those who had direct opportunities to award themselves such awards.” – Today it is very clear why Law and Justice bet on the most important state institutions. Not only to control them manually, but to make money from it. To squeeze as much as possible out of these institutions, to milk these institutions to the very end – he commented.
According to him, it is “a pebble in the garden when it comes to the application for the State Tribunal.”
“There are at least four serious allegations”
Petru, however, said that the head of the central bank “felt unpunished, so self-confident.” He pointed out that the funds for awards for Glapiński “are our public money.”
– There is no way to accept this type of situation when the president pays himself, doesn’t tell anyone about it, hides it from the public. And this is just an example that this is the byzantium of PiS. After all, it’s not just about him, but about other people associated with PiS, he argued.
– I believe that we need to talk to Mr. Paweł Mucha because President Glapiński is getting closer and closer to being brought before the State Tribunal. Not because he paid himself higher salaries – because I assume it was legal – but for breaking the law, i.e. conflict within the management board, conflict within the Monetary Policy Council, i.e. breaking the law, financing budget deficit and breaking the apolitical nature of the National Bank of Poland. Let me remind you, he participated in the campaign, he said.
– There are at least four serious allegations. And when it comes to the coalition, I am convinced that there is a deep belief that this should be done, he said.
