Drivers in Polish cities, including Warsaw, Poznań, Szczecin and Gdańsk, protested against high fuel prices. To express their dissatisfaction, they paid pennies for small amounts of fuel, or made long purchases in the store at the station, taking a seat. – Let’s block Orlen, block all stations and end this absurd price increase – said one of the drivers at the station in Warsaw.

The situation in Warsaw was reported by TVN24 reporter Agata Adamek, who observed the behavior of drivers at one of the capital’s gas stations.

– Drivers are looking for different ways to protest against fuel prices at gas stations. For example, some people make high purchases in a store located next to a station, which takes several dozen minutes, which is why their car is blocked by one of the distributors. Some are hungry and eat a few hot dogs, which also takes time. As a result, this station is blocked, a queue is forming – described the reporter.

– Let’s block Orlen, block all stations and end this absurd price increase. I will fill up for a liter, I have pennies in my pocket and I will try to make (paying – ed.) As long as possible. I hope that it will take a while, as a result of which the queue will increase and Orlen’s profit will decrease – said one of her interlocutors.

“An ordinary man cannot hold on to it and cannot bear it”

Drivers in various other Polish cities also expressed their dissatisfaction with the high fuel prices.

– What is happening now is simply overkill. The common man cannot hold on to it and cannot bear it. I am dissatisfied and will be dissatisfied until something changes – said the driver at the Orlen station in Szczecin.

“This is one big fake”

– First of all, I protest against excessively high fuel prices. The government imposes a margin, Putin explains it, but fuel prices were rising long before that war in Ukraine. This is one big fake – said one of the drivers met at the Orlen station in Poznań.

A dozen or so cars blocking access have set up at the distributors there. Some decided to check the oil level, wash the windows, others paid for gas in pennies. Behind the car windows there were cards with the slogans: Action Blocking Orlen.

Similar views could be seen, among others, in Stargard, Przemyśl, Gdańsk and Białystok.
