Arkadiusz Gołaś was born in Przasnysz and started playing volleyball at the age of ten. His career was gaining momentum and he played in the Polish national team. They traveled all night, and in the morning Arkadiusz Gołaś's beloved took over driving. – Arek was the first to drive the car. On September 16, 2005, the media reported the tragic news of the death of Arkadiusz Gołaś. While traveling on an Austrian motorway, the recently purchased car driven by the athlete's wife unexpectedly turned right and hit a concrete wall. Arkadiusz Gołaś died on the spot, and his wife was taken to hospital. – I don't know what happened and I don't remember it. On the other hand, if I did remember, I would always find something to blame myself for. And maybe I would feel even worse – recalled the wife of the deceased athlete. Agnieszka Gołaś was accused of causing the volleyball player's death by negligence. She submitted to the punishment voluntarily and later disappeared from the media. Arkadiusz and his beloved were very temperamental. However, they were united by great love. The athlete's dream was to start a family. – Their relationship, especially at the beginning, was very stormy. This was especially visible in how often Arek changed his phones. And it wasn't because they broke down, but because they didn't survive the collision with the wall. I remember that I could play goalkeeper a few times and catch the phones he threw, which he smashed in his rage. Of course, he didn't destroy those phones much, he was usually gentle, only sometimes he could get so angry – recalled his friend Krzysztof Ignaczak.
