The Ministry of Tourism denies this. “It's hard to talk about fees”

“The minister is conducting an open dialogue with the tourism industry on the draft act amending the act on hotel services and the services of tour guides and tourist guides and some other acts. The work is currently at such an early stage that it is difficult to talk about fees or their necessity,” the ministry said. .

The “holiday tax” was intended to support the promotion of Poland. “We have a problem”

The tourist tax – or as it was called the “holiday tax” – would be levied on everyone, according to the media tourist. It would amount to PLN 1 per star awarded to accommodation providers, both hotels and campsites. The higher the standard of the facility and the more stars it has, the higher the fee would be. In this way, the state could obtain PLN 500-600 million annually, which would be allocated, among others, to: to promote Poland.

– We actually have a problem in Poland of lack of funds for the promotion of Poland's tourism, we do not pursue such an active policy, for these reasons, and this distinguishes us from other countries. This is a huge reserve for us, which we should use, we should actively enter this area, but the work is at such an early stage that it is difficult to talk about any fees or the necessity of payment – explained Nitras, quoted by praw.pl.
