Holidays 2023. New Ankara-Warsaw air connection

On Sunday, a direct flight link between Ankara and Warsaw was opened. It is operated by the Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus.

Connection from Chopin Airport in Warsaw will be made once a week – on Sunday.

Pegasus also announced the opening of a connection between the Turkish capital and Krakow on July 10. Flights on this route are scheduled to operate on Mondays and Thursdays.

“These connections will significantly affect our commercial, tourist and scientific exchanges,” the airlines assured.

The Turkish Pegasus airlines have already operated in Warsaw, but as charter airlines. According to the data of the Civil Aviation Office, in 2022 this carrier served 132,773 passengers in charter traffic. The Turkish line had 2.65 percent. market share.

Among air carriers, the largest number of charter passengers were carried by: Enter Air (1.3 million), Buzz (1.1 million) and Smartwings (815,000).

Another call

This is another new air connection in the Polish sky. Recently LOT Polish Airlines informed that they would launch a connection between Krakow and Zielona Góra. Inaugural cruise on this route was scheduled for June 7. Domestic connections from the capital of Lesser Poland are also offered by Ryanair.

From June, new charter and regular connections are to be launched from the Warsaw-Radom airport in stages. At the beginning, from Saturday, June 3, charter flights to Antalya started.

Last year, the largest number of passengers used Warsaw Chopin Airport. In 2022, the capital’s airport served 14.4 million passengers, i.e. 6.9 million more than in 2021, and 4.5 million less than in 2019. The Kraków-Balice Airport and the port in Gdańsk were also on the podium.
