Hulu is cracking down on password sharing, identical to Disney Plus and Netflix

Hulu has simply laid the groundwork to kick pals, household, and freeloaders off its streaming service except they pay for their very own accounts. This week, the corporate revised its Terms of Service to explicitly ban password sharing outdoors of “your major private residence,” and it’s begun to inform subscribers they’ll have to comply by March 14th, 2024.

This doesn’t come as a lot of a shock: the writing’s been on the wall ever since Netflix reported that its password sharing crackdown was successful in driving more signups, after Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed he’d like to follow suit, and definitely after Disney Plus started its own password sharing crackdown in earnest.
