Hurricane Ida has risen to at least 50 deaths from floods and tornadoes on the US northeast coast. Many have drowned in their own homes or flooded cars. The search for the missing is ongoing.
The remnants of Hurricane Ida on Wednesday caused extensive flooding from Virginia to New England (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut). The area from Philadelphia to the south of New York State was particularly severely affected by record-breaking rainfall.

Able New Jersey killed at least 25 people, and 18 in the state New York – it results from the data of the services. Many of them drowned in their own homes or sunken cars. Four people died in Pennsylvania. One death has been reported in the states Maryland, Connecticut and Virginia.

Some areas of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island dropped 230 liters of water per square meter, and nearly the same in New York’s Staten Island.
Several tornadoes in various states, several hundred bridges to be inspected
There were at least eight tornadoes on the seabed in the Northeast on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said. Four occurred in Pennsylvania, three in New Jersey, and one in Massachusetts. The one that appeared in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, razed the entire neighborhood to the ground.
As Yassmin Gramian of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said, more than 800 bridges across the state are due to be inspected as a result of blistering weather damage.
Ida hit the Louisiana coast on Sunday as a category 4 hurricane on the five-point ascending Saffir-Simpson scale.
