Twenty-five packages of cocaine were found on a Florida island after Hurricane Debby hit the area, the Miami Border Patrol said. The drugs have an estimated black market value of more than $1 million.
Nearly 32 kilograms of cocaine was found on a beach on one of the islands in the Florida Keys by a passer-by, who contacted the authorities.
A photo of 25 confiscated packages of cocaine was shared on Monday on platform X by local border guard Samuel Briggs. As he wrote, the estimated black market value of the items exceeds one million dollars.
Deaths and severe flooding
Debby hit Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in the southeastern United States on Monday, killing at least six people. The hurricane weakened to a storms tropical. The element is moving at a very slow pace, which increases the risk of serious flooding. In many places, there have already been numerous floods and inundations.
