Food prices have skyrocketed in recent years. The price increases also affected ice cream. Cones have gone up in price the most, and we currently pay 45 percent more than two years ago – according to data from the PanParagon application.

Every year we pay more and more for ice cream – every fan of this group of sweets knows this. Experts from PanParagon decided to check how much the price of this delicacy has increased. Among store-bought ice cream, the experts selected one well-known brand from each category. Thanks to this, changes in prices over the last two years were compared. The data shows the average price that appeared on receipts in the period from April 1 to May 24, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

In turn, the prices of scooped ice cream increased by 26 percent. Currently, the average price of a scoop of ice cream in ice cream parlors is approximately PLN 6.53, while in 2022 the average price was PLN 5.17

The smallest, but still significant, increase is also visible in the case of ice cream sold in large packages. We now pay on average PLN 23.20 for 1 liter of ice cream from a well-known brand, while in 2022 the price for the same product was PLN 19.30. The difference is therefore a significant 20 percent.

– Higher ice cream prices are mainly the result of the rampant price inflationthat affected us in previous years. Raw materials have become more expensive, and fees for renting premises and electricity have increased. Entrepreneurs' expenses on employee salaries also increased. These factors may have a direct impact on the final price list that we see in ice cream parlors and store freezersexplain Antonina Grzelak from the PanParagon application.
