– Can’t you read it? Then you still have to go to elementary school. Calligraphy – this is how Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Edward Siarka answered the TVN24 reporter to the question about Beata Szydło’s financial statement. However, little can be learned from the document. – It is written in such a way that no one can accidentally read it – said Katarzyna Lubnauer from the Civic Coalition.
Beata Szydło’s asset declaration certainly stands out among others in that many fragments are difficult to read.
The document shows that the MEP has accumulated savings of over PLN 30,000. PLN and over 98 thousand. euro. A year ago, it was over 57,000 respectively. PLN and over 116 thousand. euro.
The former prime minister owns a house worth £420,000. PLN and a farm valued at PLN 320,000. zloty. However, details about these properties are hard to read.
However, the worst situation is in the case of points “IX” and “X” of the statement, where income and movable property are entered. It looks like this:

Comparing what the MEP entered in previous years and in what order, we can guess that the income from the performance of the mandate to the European Parliament was entered first. You can also see the expression “members’ allowances”. The amounts are clearer, although they also leave doubts.
It turns out that the former prime minister’s asset declaration for 2022 is an exception. In the previous two years, her statements looked completely different. The writing is neat and legible. Almost all fields have been filled in capital letters.

“I think everything is clear”
TVN24 reporter Artur Molęda asked MPs in the Sejm about the issue of Beata Szydło’s statement.
– There is a doctoral letter, I will not say, but it can be read, absolutely – said Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Edward Siarka. “I think everything is clear about the asset declaration,” he added.
To Artur Molęda’s remark that he could not read the statement, the Sovereign Poland MP replied with a laugh: “You can’t read it? Well, then you still have to go to elementary school. Calligraphy.”

– I think that everything is clear here, you know what the amounts are, the income earned, for what, right… – stated Siarka, trying to read the document. – Execution of the parliamentary mandate, and so on, everything is clear – repeated the deputy minister.
When asked whether the amount presented in the statement is in euros or zlotys PiS MP he replied after a few seconds of reflection that “in my opinion it is in euros (…), here it is in zlotys, and here it is probably in euros”.
The letter on the receipt
– Some prescriptions, I once saw something that had a “p” written on it and then an “l” and it’s obvious it’s paracetamol. So exactly the financial statement, probably by Mrs. Beata Szydło because I saw these doodles once, it looks like this paracetamol, where there is only the first and last letter. It is written in such a way that no one can accidentally read it, said Katarzyna Lubnauer from the Civic Coalition.
At Artur Molęda’s remark that the previous asset declaration is legible, the MP noted that “You can? You can. Perhaps then she was not ashamed of the wealth she had accumulated in this bad European Union.”
