Olena Zelenska, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, visited the Warsaw Uprising Museum during a one-day visit to Poland. She shared her feelings on Twitter.
“The Warsaw Uprising Museum is a moving and symbolic place; the images of Warsaw destroyed by German bombing are painfully reminiscent of what the Russian occupiers are doing in Ukraine today,” Olena Zelenska, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, tweeted on Wednesday.
“This museum is dedicated to (people) fighting for Poland’s independence (in clashes) with German and Soviet invaders. (…) By learning about the past, we can build a better future together,” Zelenska stressed.
The first lady of Ukraine informed that people visiting the Warsaw Uprising Museum will now be able to use the audio guide in the Ukrainian language version. The introduction of this facility for Ukrainians living in Poland became possible thanks to cooperation with the Ukrainian Embassy in Warsaw and the director of the Warsaw Uprising Museum, Jan Ołdakowski, announced the wife of Volodymyr Zelensky.
She added that thanks to this project, “every Ukrainian will be able to get to know the history of Polish heroism better.”
Thank you for your commitment and dedication
Olena Zełenska and Agata Kornhauser-Duda also visited a refugee center run by Caritas Polska. She expressed her gratitude to all the people who supported and continue to support Ukrainians in Poland.
– I would like to thank Caritas for your work. In cooperation with you, the president’s office organized many humanitarian transports to Ukraine, said Agata Kornhauser-Duda.
– Caritas was known in Ukraine before the war. I am glad that the organization has intensified its work, said Olena Zelenska. “Thank you for your commitment and dedication,” she added

The Ukrainian president came to Poland on Wednesday on an official visit, the first since the outbreak of war. The presidents’ wives, Agata Kornhauser-Duda and Olena Zełenska, carried out a separate program of the visit, and have been involved in joint activities related to the training of Ukrainian medics for a long time.
“Wednesday’s visit to Poland is like visiting dear friends for me,” the first lady of Ukraine stressed earlier on Twitter. She also announced other initiatives, including training of psychologists, psychiatrists and medical physiotherapists.
