The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued warnings against strong winds for parts of Western Pomerania. During the first days of April, snowfall, icing and frost are also possible in Poland, according to the IMGW threat forecast.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued warnings and a forecast of weather threats for the next few days.

IMGW alerts – strong wind

Level 1 strong wind warnings have been issued for the province West Pomeranianfor counties: ŚwinoujścieKamień, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Koszalin, Koszalin.

A strong wind with an average speed of up to 45 km/h, gusts up to 80 km/h, is forecast from the north-east.

The alerts will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Level 1 frost warnings may be in effect in some parts of the country on Saturday. IMGW plans to issue them for the following voivodeships: West Pomeranian (outside the districts of Świnoujście, Kamień, Gryfice and Sławno), Pomeranian (except for the following poviats: Puck, Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk, Nowodworski), Kuyavian-Pomeranian (for counties: Sępólno, Tuchola, Świecie, Grudziądz, Grudziądz), warmińsko-mazurskie, Podlaskie (for the counties: Suwałki, Suwałki, Sejny, Augustów, Sokółka, Moniecki, Grajewo, Kolno), Greater Poland (for counties: Złotów, Piła, Chodzież, Czarnków-Trzcianecki), Lubuskie (for counties: Gorzów, Gorzow WielkopolskiStrzelecko-Dresdenki), Lower Silesia (for poviats: Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, Wałbrzych).

On Sunday, the lowest degree of weather alerts should be expected throughout Poland. For all places, except for the counties of Puck, Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk and Nowodworski in the province of Pomeranian weather forecasters may issue frost warnings.

Strong wind alerts may apply in provinces West Pomeranian (districts: Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Koszalin, Sławieński) i Pomeranian (districts: Słupsk, Lębork, Wejherowo, Puck, Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk, Gdańsk, Nowodworski, Malbork).

It will become slippery in some regions. Ice warnings will likely be issued for the following provinces: Świętokrzyskie, Silesian, Lesser Poland and Subcarpathian.

Snow alerts are available in the following provinces: Silesian (districts: Cieszyn, Żywiec), Lesser Poland (districts: Tatra, Nowy Targ, Nowy Sącz, Gorlice) and Subcarpathian (districts: Jasielski, Krosno, Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady).

Frosts are also expected early next week. The associated warnings will be in effect for these two days, most likely in all over the country.
