Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warn of icing. Roads and sidewalks in the Tatra poviat can be slippery. Frost alerts are also in effect in some parts of the country. The temperature at the ground can drop to -3 degrees.

IMGW alerts – frost

Temperatures will drop significantly overnight in parts of the country. Frost warnings apply in the following provinces:

West Pomeranianin southern and south-eastern counties;

Lubuskieexcept for poviats in the south of the region;

Greater Polandin counties in the north;

Pomeranianin southern poviats;

Kuyavian-Pomeranianin northern and western poviats;

warmińsko-mazurskiein poviats in the west of the region;

Lower Silesiain Podgórze poviats;

Silesianin Cieszyn and Żywiec poviats;

Lesser Polandin Nowy Targ and Tatrzański districts.

In most of the country, the air temperature is forecast to drop to about -1 degrees Celsius, at the ground to -3 degrees C. The warnings will come into force at midnight and expire at 7 on Wednesday. Only in Lower Silesia they will come into force at 23 on Tuesday and will expire at 8 on Wednesday.

in the province in Opole, a decrease in air temperature from -1 degrees C to 1 degrees C is forecast, and at the ground to -2 degrees C. Alarms will be valid from 22 on Tuesday until 8 on Wednesday.

In Małopolska, a decrease in air temperature from -2 degrees C to 1 degrees C is forecast, locally at the ground to -3 degrees C. Warnings will apply from midnight to 8 on Wednesday.

Icing may be noticeable in places. A warning against this danger was issued in the Tatra poviat in the province of Lesser Poland. There, wet roads and sidewalks are forecast to freeze after rain, sleet and snowfall.

The minimum temperature is expected to be -2 to 1 degrees C, and the temperature at the ground will drop to about -3 degrees C.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation.
