IMGW warns against frost. On the night from Saturday to Sunday, first-level alerts will be in force in four voivodeships. In places, the temperature at the ground can drop to -5 degrees Celsius.
Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued weather warnings.
IMGW alerts – frost
First degree IMGW alerts against frost have been issued for the following voivodeships:
– Subcarpathian, for the counties: Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Krośnieński and Jasło;
– Lesser Poland, for the poviats: gorlicki, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ and Tatrzański;
– Silesianfor the districts: Cieszyn and Żywiec;
– Lower Silesiafor poviats: Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraLwówek, Lubań and Zgorzelec.
At night, the air temperature is forecast to drop below 0 degrees Celsius. Thermometers should indicate a minimum of -2 to 0 degrees C, at the ground from -3 degrees C to -1 degrees C. In the districts of: Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ and Tatrzański, the minimum temperature may reach from -3 to -1 degrees C, and at the ground from -5 to -1 degrees C.
The warnings will be valid from 7 p.m. on Saturday until 7 p.m. 9 on Sunday. Only in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in the Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ and Tatrzański poviats, the alerts will be in force until Monday, 10.
What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning
The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
