IMGW alerts. frosts. Yellow alerts in parts of the country. Forecasters warn

It’s gonna be another cold night. Ground frost in some parts of the country is possible, which the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns against. Alerts were issued for four provinces.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued meteorological warnings (IMGW).

IMGW alerts – frost

First degree frost warnings have been issued for the following provinces:

warmińsko-mazurskiefor the poviats: Braniewo, Lidzbark, Bartoszycki, Kętrzyn, Węgorzewo, Giżycki, Gołdap, Olecki, Ełk;

Podlaskiefor poviats: Suwałki, SuwalkiSejny, Augustów, Sokółka, Moniecki, Grajewo;

Lesser Polandfor poviats: Nowy Targ and Tatrzański;

Lower Silesiafor poviats: Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych and Kłodzko.

A drop in air temperature to about 2 degrees Celsius is forecast, locally to -2 degrees Celsius near the ground.

Alerts will be valid from 1-5.30 am on Sunday.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
