IMWM weather forecasters warn against hail storms. Orange and yellow alerts against violent weather phenomena have been announced in western Poland. There are also heat warnings in some parts of the country.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued second and first degree meteorological warnings.
Second degree IMGW alerts – hail storms
Second degree warnings before storms with hail issued for voivodships:
– Greater Polandwith the exception of the following poviats: Koło, Turek, Ostrzeszów, Kępiński;
– Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipexcept for eastern counties;
– Pomeranianwith the exception of the Słupsk poviat and Słupsk.
Thunderstorms are forecast, occasionally accompanied by very heavy rainfall, ranging from 30 to 40 liters of water per square meter, and gusts of wind up to 90-100 kilometers per hour. The strongest winds are in Kujawy and Pomerania. Hail is possible in some places.
The warnings will take effect from Friday 21-22, and will expire in hours. 4-6 on Saturday.
First degree IMWM alerts – hail storms
In much of the country, less severe hail-storm warnings will apply. They were issued for the following voivodeships:
– Pomeranianfor the poviats of Słupsk and Słupsk;
– Warmian-Masurian Voivodeshipfor the western half of the voivodeship;
– Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeshipfor eastern counties;
– Masovianfor the north-western part of the voivodeship;
– Łódźfor the western half of the voivodeship;
– Greater Polandfor the following poviats: Koło, Turek, Ostrzeszów, Kępiński;
– Silesianfor western counties.
Thunderstorms are expected in these regions, sometimes accompanied by heavy rainfall of 15 to 25 l / sq m. and gusts of wind up to 75-80 km / h. Hail can also fall in some places.
In West Pomerania and Pomerania, the warnings will be valid from 17 on Friday until 2 on Saturday. In addition, they will enter into force at midnight from Friday to Saturday, and will expire at 8 on Saturday.
Second degree IMGW alerts – heat
Second degree heat warnings were issued for the following voivodeships:
– Podkarpackieexcept for southern counties;
– Lublinfor south-eastern counties.
Thermometers will show a maximum of 30 degrees C to 33 degrees C. At night it will be a minimum of 16 degrees C to 19 degrees C. Warnings in these regions will remain in force until the hour. Saturday 18:00.
First degree IMGW alerts – heat
The warnings will remain valid until On Saturday, at 6 pm, the temperature will reach a maximum of 30 degrees C to 32 degrees C, and the minimum temperature at night will be from 12 degrees C to 16 degrees C.
