IMGW alerts against heat are in force in almost all of Poland. Level 2 warnings have been issued for most places. On Sunday, thunderstorms with hail will appear in several provinces, against which forecasters also warn.

A heatwave is passing through Poland. On Saturday, it was the hottest in the west of the country. The highest values ​​recorded were 35.5 degrees Celsius measured in Wielichów in the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship and 35.4 degrees Celsius in Słubice in the Wielkopolskie Voivodship. Lubuskie. Sunday will be another hot day. Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued first and second degree weather warnings.

IMGW alerts of the second degree – heat

Second degree heat warnings are in force in the following provinces:

West Pomeranianin the following counties: Myślibórz, Choszczno, Drawsko, Szczecinek;

Pomeranianin the districts of Człuchów, Chojnice, Kościerzyna, Starogard, Tczew, Kwidzyn, Malbork, Nowodworski and Gdańsk, GdanskSopot, Gdynia;

Lower Silesiaoutside the southern counties;

Silesianwith the exception of the Żywiec poviat;

Lesser Polandwith the exception of the Nowy Targ and Tatrzański poviats;

Subcarpathianwith the exception of Lesko and Bieszczady poviats.

The maximum temperature on Sunday will be between 30 and 34 degrees Celsius, while on Monday it will be around 30 degrees Celsius. 20 on Monday.

In Podlasie, Lubelszczyzna and Podkarpacie, the alerts will come into force at 12 noon on Sunday and will expire at 20 on Monday. Thermometers on Sunday will show a maximum of 31 to 34 degrees C, and on Monday the temperature will be around 30 degrees C.

In most areas, the minimum temperature at night will reach 18 to 20 degrees Celsius.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – heat

First degree heat warnings have been issued for the following provinces:

Silesianfor Żywiec poviat;

Lesser Polandfor Nowy Targ County;

Subcarpathianfor the districts of Lesko and Bieszczady.

In these places, thermometers will indicate a maximum of 29 to 31 degrees C, and at night – a minimum of 15 to 17 degrees C.

In Silesia and Lesser Poland, the alerts will be in effect until 20 on Sunday, and in the Podkarpacie region they will come into force at 12 noon on Sunday and will remain in effect until 12 noon. 20 on Monday.

They will arrive in parts of the country on Sunday storms with hail. First degree warnings were issued for the following provinces:

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by rainfall up to 25 liters of water per square meter and wind gusts up to 70, locally up to 80 kilometers per hour. Hail will fall in places.

Alerts will be in effect from 2 p.m. on Sunday until 1 p.m. 1 on Monday.
