The weather on Friday will be dangerous. For the western half of the country, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued warnings against thunderstorms with hail, during which wind gusts can reach up to 90 kilometers per hour. In the south-east of Poland, IMGW warns again about the heat.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued second and first degree weather warnings.

IMGW alerts of the second degree – heat

Orange heat alerts cover the following provinces:

Subcarpathianoutside the counties: Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Krosno and loom;

Lesser Polandoutside the following counties: Tatra, Oświęcim, Chrzanów and Olkuski;

Świętokrzyskieoutside the counties: Włoszczowa and Końskie;

Masovianin the east and south of the region.

The maximum temperature during the day will be from 30 to 33 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature at night – from 17 to 19 degrees Celsius, in places around 20 degrees Celsius.

The warnings will go into effect on Friday at 1 p.m. They will expire on Sunday at 1 p.m. 20.

IMGW alerts of the second degree – thunderstorms with hail

They will appear in most parts of the country storms. Second degree warnings have been issued for the following provinces:

Lesser Polandfor the western half of the voivodeship;

Świętokrzyskiefor the counties: Włoszczowa, Jędrzejów and Miechów.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in some places will be accompanied by very heavy rainfall from 25 to 40 liters of water per square meter, and wind gusts up to 90 kilometers per hour. Hail will appear in places.

In Lower Silesia, the warnings will be valid from 3 p.m. on Friday to 5 p.m. 4 on Saturday, while in other regions they will come into force at 18 on Friday and will expire at 6 the next day.

IMGW alerts of the first degree thunderstorms with hail

Lower level hail storm warnings have been issued for the following provinces:

of Lodzoutside the north-eastern counties;

Kuyavian-Pomeranianfor the western part of the voivodeship;

Pomeranianfor western poviats;

Thunderstorms are expected in these places, accompanied by heavy rainfall from 20 to 35 l/sq m in some places. and wind gusts up to 85 km/h. Hail will fall in places.

In West Pomerania, Lubuska Land and Wielkopolska, alerts will come into effect at 16 on Friday and will expire at 2 on Saturday. In the region of Pomerania, Kuyavia and Łódź region, they will be valid from 6 p.m. on Friday until 5 the next day.

What is the second degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence strongly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in daily functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all instructions issued by the emergency services in an emergency. Adapt your plans to weather conditions.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
