IMGW warns against dangerous phenomena. Level 1 alerts for thunderstorms with hail and heat are in effect. Check where alerts have been issued.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued weather warnings.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – heat

First degree heat warnings are in force in the following provinces:

West Pomeranianin the southern half of the province;

Pomeranianin southern poviats;

Greater Polandoutside the poviats: Konin, KoninKalisz, KaliszOstrów, Ostrzeszów, Kępiński, Turek and Koło;

Locally, the maximum temperature will be 30 degrees Celsius, IMGW informed. Alerts will be valid until 8 p.m.

Yellow alerts are in effect in parts of the country storms with hail. They were issued for the following provinces:

Subcarpathianfor the north-western part of the region;

Lesser Poland, no southern counties;

Silesianexcluding the southern regions;

of Lodzin all counties except those located to the east;

Greater Polandin the districts of Ostrzeszów and Kępno;

Lublinin northern poviats;

mazowieckiein central counties.

In these regions, local storms are forecast, which will be accompanied by heavy rainfall from 15 to 35 liters of water per square meter and wind gusts up to 65 kilometers per hour. Small hail may also occur locally.

The alerts will remain in effect until 21 on Friday.

The second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence strongly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in daily functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all instructions issued by the emergency services in an emergency. Adapt your plans to weather conditions.

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life.
