IMGW has issued weather warnings. On Friday, part of the country will be a threat of heat, with daytime temperatures of up to 30 degrees Celsius. Several regions, however, should prepare for stormy weather and hail.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued weather warnings.

IMGW alerts – heat

First degree heat warnings are in force in the following provinces:

West Pomeranianin the southern half of the province;

Pomeranianin the counties of: Tczew, Starogard, Kościerzyna, Chojnicki and Człuchów;

Greater Polandoutside the poviats: Konin, KoninKalisz, KaliszOstrów, Ostrzeszów, Kępiński, Turek and Koło;

The local maximum temperature will be 30 degrees Celsius. Alerts will be valid until 8 p.m. on Friday.

Yellow alerts are also in place in parts of the country ahead storms with hail. They were issued for the following provinces:

Subcarpathianfor the western and southern parts of the region;

of Lower Silesiafor the Kłodzko, Ząbkowice, Strzelin and Oława poviats;

of Lodzfor the following districts: Wieluń, Pajęczański and Radomsko.

In these regions, local storms are forecast, which will be accompanied by heavy rainfall from 15 to 35 liters of water per square meter and wind gusts up to 65 kilometers per hour. Small hail may also occur locally.

Alerts will be in effect Friday from 11am-9pm. In mountainous areas, the level of warning may be increased due to the risk of higher precipitation totals.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
