IMGW warns of heavy rainfall. Level 1 alerts are in place for this weather threat. Up to 40 liters of rain per square meter could fall in places.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued first degree warnings.

IMGW alerts – heavy rainfall

Heavy rain alerts are in effect in the following provinces:

Silesian, in southern counties, where the warnings will be valid from 12 pm on Tuesday to 12 pm. 11 am on Wednesday;

Lesser Poland, in all counties except those located in the north of the region, where alerts will be in force from Tuesday 15:00 to 15:00 13 on Wednesday;

Subcarpathian, in poviats located in the west of the region, where the alarms will be in effect from Tuesday 15:00 to 15:00 13 on Wednesday.

Moderate rainfall is forecast, with heavy periods with a total of 30 to 40 liters of water per square meter. are also possible storms.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life.
