IMGW alerts. Heavy rainfall in Poland. Warnings in the south of the country

A zone of heavy rainfall has entered Poland. It began to rain heavily on Sunday evening in the south of the country. IMGW has issued warnings for mountain areas.

Than Benedict will cause a weather breakdown in Poland. Downpours are forecast. Most of the rain will fall in the mountainous areas, where it started raining heavily on Sunday evening. The forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued meteorological warnings.

IMGW alerts – heavy rainfall

First degree IMGW alerts against heavy rainfall have been issued for the following provinces:

Lower Silesiafor the following counties: Karkonosze, Jelenia Góra, Kamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, Wałbrzych, Kłodzko;

Lesser Polandfor the Tatra poviat.

Moderate rainfall with a total of 30 to 35 liters of water per square meter is forecast.

The warnings will be in effect from 9 p.m. Sunday until 1 p.m. 12 on Monday.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation.
