IMGW alerts – icing, frost. Dangerous weather on Sunday 2.04

Level 1 frost warnings are in place across the country. The forecast shows that the temperature at the ground may drop to -6 degrees Celsius. IMGW also issued ice alerts.

The forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued meteorological warnings.

IMGW alerts – icing

First degree ice warnings are in force in the following provinces: Silesian, Lesser Poland, Subcarpathian, Świętokrzyskie, Lodz, Lublin, mazowieckie (except counties located in the north) and Podlaskie (in southern counties).

Wet surfaces of roads and sidewalks are forecast to freeze after rain, sleet and wet snow, causing them to become icy. The minimum temperature will be -3 degrees Celsius, and at the ground it will reach -5 degrees C.

Alerts will be valid from 1am to 9am on Monday.

IMGW alerts – frost

IMGW it also warns against frost. First degree alerts issued for all provinces.

Warnings in the following voivodships: Pomorskie, Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie, Wielkopolskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Podlaskie, will be valid from 23 on Sunday until 9 on Monday.

IMGW alerts in the following voivodships: Mazowieckie, Lubelskie, Podkarpackie, Małopolskie, Śląskie, Opolskie, Dolnośląskie, Świętokrzyskie, Łódzkie will be in force from 1-2 on Monday to 9 on the same day.

Air temperature is forecast to drop to about -4 or -2 degrees C, at the ground to -5/-6 degrees C.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
