IMGW alerts – icing, frost, snowfall. Dangerous weather on Sunday, April 2 and Monday, April 3

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued warnings against frost and icing. In the south of the country, forecasters also predict snowfall. It can fall up to 15 centimeters. Check where the aura will be dangerous.

IMGW alerts – icing

First degree ice warnings are in force in the following provinces: Silesian, Lesser Poland, Subcarpathian, Świętokrzyskie, Lodz, Lublin, mazowieckie (except counties located in the north) and Podlaskie (in southern counties).

Wet surfaces of roads and sidewalks are forecast to freeze after rain, sleet and wet snow, causing them to become icy. The minimum temperature will be -3 degrees Celsius, and at the ground it will reach -5 degrees C.

Alerts will be valid from 1am to 9am on Monday.

IMGW alerts – frost

IMGW it also warns against frost. First degree alerts issued for all provinces.

Warnings in the following voivodships: Pomorskie, Zachodniopomorskie, Lubuskie, Wielkopolskie, Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie and Podlaskie will be valid from 23 on Sunday until 9 on Monday.

IMGW alerts in the following voivodships: Mazowieckie, Lubelskie, Podkarpackie, Małopolskie, Śląskie, Opolskie, Dolnośląskie, Świętokrzyskie, Łódzkie will be in force from 1-2 on Monday to 9 on the same day.

Air temperature is forecast to drop to about -4 or -2 degrees C, at the ground to -5/-6 degrees C.

IMGW alerts – snowfall

It snows in parts of the country. Alerts against this weather threat are in force in the following provinces:

Silesianin the counties: Żywiec, Cieszyn, Bielsko-Biala, Bielsko-Biała, where the warnings will be in force from 6 p.m. on Sunday until 13 on Monday;

Lesser Poland, in the districts: Tatrzański, Nowy Targ, Myślenice, Suski, Wadowice, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ, Gorlicki, Limanowski, where alerts will be in force from 6 p.m. on Sunday until 13 on Monday;

Subcarpathian, in the counties: Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Krośnieński, Jasielski, where it will be dangerous from midnight to 13 on Monday.

Snowfall is forecast, causing an increase in snow cover of 5 to 15 centimeters in some places.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation.
