IMGW alerts. Icing in two provinces. Where warnings apply

IMGW issued ice warnings for parts of Pomerania and Warmia and Mazury. Roads will remain slippery until Monday morning. Locally, the temperature at the ground may drop to -10 degrees Celsius, the release said.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued first degree weather warnings.

Ice warnings are in effect in the following provinces:

Pomeranianin the districts of: Lębork, Wejherowo, Kartuski, Gdańsk, GdanskSopot, Gdynia, Nowy Dwór, Malbork, Sztum;

warmińsko-mazurskiein the counties: Elbląg, ElblągBraniewo.

It is forecasted that the wet surface of roads and sidewalks will freeze after a wet snowfall, causing them to become icy. As announced in the release, the minimum temperature will range from -5 to -2 degrees Celsius, locally it is possible to drop to -8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature at the ground will range from -6 to -4 degrees Celsius, locally to -10 degrees Celsius .C

The warnings will remain in effect until 9am on Monday.
