Freezing rain or drizzle can cause black ice – warns IMGW on Saturday morning. Alerts are valid in the area of ​​four provinces.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree meteorological warnings on a three-stage, ascending scale.

IMGW alerts – freezing precipitation

Yellow alerts IMGW against freezing precipitation apply in the following voivodeships:

warmińsko-mazurskiein the districts of Kętrzyn, Węgorzewo, Giżycko, Mrągowo, Szczytno and Pisz;

Podlaskiein the districts of: Łomża, Łomża, Zambrów and Kolno;

mazowieckiein the districts of: Ostrołęka, OstrołękaMaków, Pułtusk, Wyszkowski, Wołomin, Węgrów, Sokołowski, Siedlce, SiedlceMinsk;

Lublinoutside the counties of Ryki, Puławy, Opole, Kraśnik, Janów and Biłgoraj;

Light freezing rain is forecast in places, causing black ice. The warnings will be in effect until 9am on Saturday.

Road conditions on Saturday morning are also difficult due to fog. Visibility in some places is limited to 100 meters.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life.
