The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns against strong winds in the north-west of the country. Along the coast, where level 2 alerts are in effect, wind gusts can reach up to 110 kilometers per hour. Hail storm warnings have been issued for some locations in southern Poland.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued first and second degree meteorological warnings.

IMGW alerts of the second degree – strong wind

Second degree warnings against strong winds are in force in the following provinces:

West Pomeranianin poviats: ŚwinoujścieKamień, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Koszalin, KoszalinSławno;

Pomeranianin the counties: Słupsk, SlupskLębork, Wejherowo, Puck.

Strong winds with an average speed of 50 to 65 kilometers per hour are forecast, with gusts up to 100 km/h, gusts up to 110 km/h are possible from the west and south-west. The wind will gradually weaken from Tuesday morning.

The alerts are in effect until 2 p.m. Tuesday. However, as stated in the message, “due to the dynamic meteorological situation, the warning may be updated”.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – strong wind

Level 1 warnings have also been issued for strong winds. They apply to the following voivodeships:

West Pomeranianin the following counties: Police, Gryficki, Pyrzyce, Stargard, Goleniów, Łobez, Drawski, Świdwin, Białogard, Szczecinek;

Pomeranianeverywhere except counties covered by higher level alerts.

Strong winds with an average speed of 35 to 45 km/h, gusts up to 80 km/h, from the west and south-west are expected there.

Warnings in Western Pomerania will be in force until 9 on Monday, and in Pomerania they expire at 11 on the same day.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – thunderstorms with hail

There will be thunderstorms in parts of the country on Monday. Forecasters have issued first-level warnings for the following provinces:

Silesianfor counties: Cieszyn, Bielsko, Bielsko-BialaŻywiec;

Lesser Polandfor the poviats: Myślenice, Sucha, Nowy Targ, Tatrzański, Limanowski, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SaczGorlice;

Subcarpathianfor the districts of: Jasielski, Strzyżów, Krosno, Krosno, Brzozowski, Sanok, Lesko and Bieszadzki.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by heavy rainfall in places up to 25 l / sq m. and wind gusts up to 70 km/h. Hail will fall in some places.

The alerts will be in effect from 12-9pm on Monday.

What is the second degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence strongly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in daily functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all instructions issued by the emergency services in an emergency. Adapt your plans to weather conditions.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous.
