IMGW warns of thunderstorms with hail. Synoptics predict that the first discharges may appear over our country in the morning hours. Second level alerts were announced in 11 provinces.

IMGW alerts of the second degree – thunderstorms with hail

In a significant part of the country, orange IMGW alerts against thunderstorms with hail are in force. They were issued in the following provinces:

Lubuskiein the counties: Krosno, Zielona Góra, green MountainNowa Sól, Żary, Żagań and Wschowa;

Pomeranianin the districts of Człuchów, Chojnice, Starogard, Tczew, Sztum and Kwidzyn;

mazowieckiein the districts of Żuromin, Sierpc, Płock, Płock and Gostynin;

Lesser Polandin the counties: Olkuski, Miechów, Chrzanów, Kraków, CracowProszowice, Wieliczka, Oświęcim, Wadowice, Myślenice, Sucha, Limanów, Nowy Targ and Tatrzański;

Świętokrzyskiein the poviats: Końskie, Włoszczowa, Kielce, KielceJędrzejów, Pińczów and Kazimierz.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by heavy rainfall from 20 to 35 liters of water per square meter, and gusts of wind up to 90 kilometers per hour, locally possible gusts up to 100 km/h. Hail may fall in places.

In the Lubusz Land, Lower Silesia, Opole, Lesser Poland and Upper Silesia (except for the counties of Kłobuck, Częstochowa, Czestochowa, Myszków and Zawiercie) the warnings will come into force on Wednesday at 11 am and will expire on the same day at 11 pm. 20. In all other regions, alerts are due to go into effect Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. 13-22.

IMGW also issued lower, first degree alerts against thunderstorms with hail. They are in force in the following provinces:

Lubuskiethroughout the region, except for poviats covered by higher-level alerts;

Pomeranianfor all poviats not covered by orange alerts.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by heavy rainfall from 20 to 35 l / sq m. and wind gusts up to 85 km/h. There may be hail in places.

In Lubuska Land and West Pomerania, the alerts will be in effect on Wednesday from 12:00 to 20:00, and in Gdańsk Pomerania – from 12:00 p.m. 13 to 22 on the same day.

What is a Level 1 weather warning?

According to the IMWM definition, a first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the hazard is present, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.

According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, a first degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence strongly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in daily functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all instructions issued by the emergency services in an emergency.
