IMGW alerts. Snow and frost. Dangerous weather on Sunday 2.04

IMGW has issued first degree meteorological alerts. Heavy snowfall will be a threat to us. Frosts may persist in parts of the country. Check where warnings apply.

The forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued meteorological warnings.

IMGW alerts – frost

Frosts are also possible in the northwest of the country. First degree warnings have been issued for the following provinces:

West Pomeranianfor the following poviats: Koszalin, Białogard, Świdwin, Szczecinek, Drawsko, Wałecki;

Pomeranianfor the counties: Słupsk, Lębork, Bytów, Człuchów, Chojnicki, Starogard, Kościerzyna, Kartuski.

It is expected that the air temperature will drop to about -1 degree Celsius, at the ground to -2 degrees Celsius.

The warnings will be in effect until 7 on Sunday.

IMGW alerts – snowfall

First degree snow warnings have been issued for the province Lower Silesiafor counties: Lubań, Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych and Kłodzko.

In areas above 600 meters above sea level, snowfall is forecast, causing an increase in snow cover of about 5 centimeters.

Alerts will expire at 18 on Sunday.

IMGW alerts – heavy snowfall

Heavy snowfall is also expected in parts of the country. Warnings are in force in the Tatrzański and Nowy Targ poviats in the province of Lesser Poland.

Snowfall is forecast, causing an increase in snow cover of approx. 10-13 cm.

The warnings will be in effect from 10 am to 21 on Sunday.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
