IMGW weather forecasters issued first degree warnings. Strong gusts of wind and heavy snowfall will be felt in 13 provinces. Check where the weather will be dangerous.

Due to the dangerous weather forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued weather warnings.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – strong wind

IMGW forecasters warn of strong winds in the following provinces:

Subcarpathian, where alerts will be in effect from 9 a.m. on Saturday to 2 on Sunday;

Lesser Poland, where alerts will be in effect from 9 a.m. on Saturday to 2 on Sunday;

Silesian. Alerts will be in effect until 18 on Saturday in the south and north-west of the province, from 9 on Saturday to 2 on Sunday in the east and in the center of the province;

Opole, when alerts will be in effect until 6 p.m. on Saturday;

Lower Silesian, where the alarms will be valid until 6 p.m. on Saturday;

Lublin, where alerts will be in effect from 9 a.m. on Saturday to 2 on Sunday;

Świętokrzyskie, where alerts will be in effect from 9 a.m. on Saturday to 2 on Sunday;

mazowieckie, in southern counties, where alerts will apply from 9 a.m. on Saturday to 2 on Sunday;

Lodzoutside the northern counties. The alerts will be in effect from 9am on Saturday until 8pm. 2 on Sunday in the east of the province and on Saturday at 18 in the west;

Greater Polandin southern poviats, where alerts will be in force until 6 p.m. on Saturday;

Lubuskiein the southern half of the region, where alerts will remain in place until 6 p.m. Saturday.

A strong wind with an average speed of up to 40 kilometers per hour, gusts up to 85 km/h, from the south-west and west is forecast.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – heavy snowfall

IMGW has also issued yellow warnings for heavy snowfall. Valid in the following provinces:

Pomeranianin poviats: Gdańsk, GdanskSopot, Gdynia, Kartuzy, Kościerzyna, Puck, Wejherowo, Bytów, Lębork, Slupsk and Slupsk;

West Pomeranianin poviats: Koszalin, Koszalin and Sławno.

Snowfall is forecast, causing an increase in snow cover by 10 to 15 centimeters.

The warnings will expire at 3.30pm on Saturday.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
