IMGW alerts – strong frost, strong wind. Warnings. Weather in Poland – Friday 10.02

IMGW warns of strong winds with gusts up to 90 kilometers per hour. Level 1 and Level 2 alerts have been issued prior to this weather threat. There are also severe frost alerts. Check where the aura will be dangerous.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued second and first degree meteorological warnings in a three-stage ascending scale.

IMGW alerts of the second degree – strong wind

IMGW’s orange alerts against strong winds have been issued for the following voivodeships:

West Pomeranianin the district of Sławno;

Pomeranianin the counties: Słupsk, SlupskLębork, Wejherowo, Puck.

Strong winds with an average speed of up to 60 km/h, gusts up to 90 km/h, from the south-west and west are forecast.

The warnings will be valid from 22:00 on Friday until 14:00 on Saturday.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – strong wind

A lower level of alerts against strong winds was issued in the following provinces:

West Pomeranianin poviats: ŚwinoujścieKamień, Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Białogard, Koszalin, Koszalinwhere it will be dangerous from 22 on Friday until 12 noon on Saturday;

Pomeranianin the counties: Bytów, Kartuski, Gdynia, Sopot, Gdańsk, Gdańsk and Nowy Targ, where the alarms will start at midnight and expire at 14 on Saturday;

warmińsko-mazurskiein the districts: Braniewo, Elbląg, Elbląg, where the alarms will go into effect at 2 and will be valid until 14 on Saturday.

A strong wind with an average speed of up to 50-55 km/h, gusts up to 75-80 km/h, from the south-west and west is forecast.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – severe frost

IMGW alerts of the first degree against severe frost are in force in the voivodship Lesser Polandin the Tatra district.

The minimum temperature at night is forecast to range from -7 to -10 degrees Celsius, locally, in depressions, drops to -15 degrees Celsius are possible.

The alerts will be valid until 10am on Saturday.

What is a second degree weather warning

The second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence strongly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in daily functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all instructions issued by the emergency services in an emergency. Adapt your plans to weather conditions.

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation.
