IMGW warns against gusty winds on the coast, which can topple trees and damage power lines. According to the threat forecast, the weekend will also be windy, and strong gusts may be felt in more provinces. Heavy snowfall is possible in the south of the country on Tuesday.

As reported on Friday evening by Grażyna Dąbrowska from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, there is a deep low over the British Isles and very strong gusts of wind are forecast there. Poland is located on its outskirts – on the night from Saturday to Sunday, and probably from Sunday to Monday, gusts will reach up to 75 kilometers per hour. This wind can topple weakly rooted trees, cause damage to power lines, and disrupt the operation of ports.

The forecast of meteorological threats for the following days is also in force.

Yellow alerts against strong winds have been issued in the following provinces:

Pomeranianin the counties: Słupsk, SlupskWejherowo, Puck and Lębork, where they will be valid from midnight on Friday to 9 am on Saturday;

West Pomeranianin the districts of: Kamień, ŚwinoujścieGryfice, Kołobrzeg, Koszalin, Koszalinwhere they will be valid from 22 on Friday until 7 on Saturday.

A strong wind with an average speed of 30 to 40 km / h, gusts up to 75 km / h, is forecast from the south-west.

Strong winds will blow on Saturday. IMGW plans to issue yellow alerts against this weather threat in the following provinces on this day: Pomeranian, West Pomeranian, warmińsko-mazurskie (in north-western counties), Greater Poland, Lubuskie, Lodz, Lower Silesia, Opole and in the districts located in the south of the province Silesian, Lesser Poland and Subcarpathian.

Sunday will be windy in parts of the country. First degree warnings against strong wind may appear in the following provinces: Pomeranian, West Pomeranian, Lubuskie (in the north of the region), Greater Poland (except southern poviats), Lodz, Opole, Lower Silesia (in poviats located in the south), Silesian (in the south of the region), Lesser Poland (in southern poviats), Subcarpathian (in poviats located in the south).
