IMGW alarms – on Wednesday in part of the country the weather will be really dangerous. Freezing, heavy snow and icing warnings are in effect. Level 2 alerts had to be issued in some regions. Check where the weather will be a threat to us.
Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued second and first degree meteorological warnings. There is also a threat forecast for the next few days.
IMGW alerts of the second degree – freezing precipitation
Orange warnings against freezing precipitation apply in the following provinces:
– warmińsko-mazurskiein the counties: Gołdap, Olecki and Ełk;
– Podlaskiein the whole voivodeship, excluding the following poviats: Kolno, Łomża, Łomża, Zambrowski, Wysokie Mazowieckie and Siemiatycki.
There is and will be light precipitation of freezing rain or drizzle, causing black ice. IMGW he commented that the warnings are continuing with a higher degree.
Alarms will expire at 18 on Wednesday.
IMGW alerts of the first degree – freezing precipitation
IMGW yellow alerts against freezing precipitation apply in the following voivodeships:
– warmińsko-mazurskiein the districts of Węgorzewo, Giżycki and Pisz;
– Lublinin poviats located in the east of the region;
– Podlaskiein the following counties: Kolno, Łomża, Łomża, Zambrów, Wysokie Mazowiecki and Siemiatycze.
Slight freezing rain or drizzle is forecast there, causing black ice.
The warnings will expire at 9am on Wednesday.
IMGW alerts of the first degree – heavy snowfall
Forecasters also warn of heavy snowfall. Alerts against this threat are in effect in the province Lower Silesia and include the following poviats: Karkonosze, Jelenia GoraKamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, Kłodzko.
In the mountains above 600 meters above sea level, snowfall is forecast, causing in some places an increase in snow cover by 10-15 centimeters.
The warnings will expire at 10 am on Wednesday.
IMGW alerts of the first degree – icing
In addition, forecasters warn of icing. Alerts have been issued for the following provinces:
– Silesianin the counties: Cieszyn, Bielski, Bielsko-BialaŻywiec;
– Lesser Polandin the counties: Wadowice, Suski, Myślenice, Limanowski, Nowy Sącz, Nowy SaczGorlice, Nowy Targ, Tatra;
– Subcarpathianin the foothill districts.
Wet surfaces of roads and pavements are forecast to freeze after rain, sleet and wet snow, causing them to become icy. The minimum air temperature will be about -2 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature at the ground – about -3 degrees Celsius.
Alerts will expire at 9 on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s Threat Forecast
The cold weather won’t let up on Wednesday. IMGW plans to issue first-level alerts against heavy snowfall in the following provinces: Lower Silesia (in the counties: Karkonosze, Jelenia Góra, Kamienna Góra, Wałbrzych, Kłodzko), warmińsko-mazurskie (in western poviats), Pomeranian (in counties located in the north), West Pomeranian (in western counties).
Blizzards or blizzards may also occur on this day. Warnings against this dangerous phenomenon may appear in the province warmińsko-mazurskie and Podlaskie (in the north of the region).
Threat Forecast for Friday
On Friday, it can snow heavily in the south of Poland. Heavy snowfall alerts may be issued for provinces Lesser Poland (southern counties) and Silesian (poviats located in the south of the region).
