Thunderstorms will occur in Poland on the night from Monday to Tuesday. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued warnings for the northern regions. Wind gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour are expected.

The weather forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first degree warnings.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – thunderstorms

First level warnings storms are valid in the following provinces:

PomeranianKuyavian-Pomeranian;

Lubuskiein the northern half of the voivodeship;

Greater Polandin northern counties;

mazowieckiein northern counties;

Podlaskiein the northern half of the province.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by rainfall from 15 to 25 liters of water per square meter and wind gusts up to 80 kilometers per hour. Minor hail is possible.

In West Pomerania and Lubuska Land, the alerts will be valid until 3 am on Tuesday, in Pomerania, Kuyavia and Wielkopolska, they will expire at 3 pm. 6 on Tuesday, while in Warmia and Masuria, Mazowsze and Podlasie will expire at 9 on the same day.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution recommended, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
