IMGW alerts. Thunderstorms and heat. Orange warnings in most of the country

Alerts of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management against thunderstorms with hail are in force on Saturday evening in the eastern half of Poland. It’s supposed to be dangerous until the night hours. Almost all over the country, IMGW also warns against heat. Temperatures will not fall below 20 degrees Celsius at night from Saturday to Sunday, and will exceed 30 degrees during the day.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued second and first degree weather warnings on a three-point ascending scale.

IMGW alerts of the second degree – thunderstorms with hail

Second degree hail storm warnings are in effect in the following provinces:

warmińsko-mazurskiein the counties of Nidzica, Szczytno, Pisz, Ełk and Olec;

mazowieckieoutside the counties: Żuromin, Sierpc, Płock, Płock, Gostynin, Przysucha;

Świętokrzyskieoutside the Konecki and Włoszczowa poviats;

Silesianin the counties: Bielski, Bielsko-BialaŻywiec, Cieszyn.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by very heavy rainfall from 30 to 55 liters of water per square meter, and wind gusts up to 70 kilometers per hour. Hail will appear in places. Most of the rain is expected to fall in the region of Warmia i MazurkaPodlasie, Mazovia, Świętokrzyska Land and in the northern half of the Lublin region.

The warnings will be valid until midnight from Saturday to Sunday.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – thunderstorms with hail

Level 1 hail storm warnings are in place in some locations. They were issued for the following provinces:

warmińsko-mazurskiewith the exception of the following poviats: Braniewo, Elbląg and Elbląg and under level 2 alerts;

mazowieckiefor the counties: Żuromin, Sierpc, Płock, Płock, Przysucha;

of Lodzfor the counties: Łowicz, Skierniewice, Brzeziny, Łódzkie Wschodnia, Tomaszów, Rawa, Piotrków, Piotrkow TrybunalskiOpoczno;

Świętokrzyskiefor the districts of Konecki and Włoszczowa.

Thunderstorms are forecast there, which will be accompanied by heavy rainfall from 20 to 30 l / sq m in places. and wind gusts up to 65 km/h. Hail will also fall in places.

Alerts in Warmia and Mazury will be valid until midnight from Saturday to Sunday, in other provinces they will expire at 22 on Saturday.

IMGW alerts of the second degree – heat

Forecasters also warn of heat. Second degree warnings are in force in the following provinces: Pomeranian (in south-eastern counties), Greater Poland, mazowieckie, lubelskie, Lubuskie, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, warmińsko-mazurskie (except north-western poviats), Podlaskie, Lodz, Opole, Subcarpathian, Silesian (except southern poviats), Lesser Poland (except southern poviats), Lower Silesia (except southern poviats), Świętokrzyskie.

The maximum temperature during the day will be 29-33 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature at night – 18-20 degrees Celsius. 18-20 on Sunday.

What is the second degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence strongly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in daily functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all instructions issued by the emergency services in an emergency. Adapt your plans to weather conditions.

What is the first degree IMGW meteorological warning

The first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material damage and threat to health and life. Running a business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from activities in the area where the threat occurs, including delays caused by traffic obstructions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation.
