Thunderstorms with hail will occur in south-eastern Poland on Wednesday. Locally, rainfall can be very heavy. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued alerts in seven provinces. The next days of this week will bring dangerous phenomena in other parts of the country.

From Wednesday, there will be numerous violent phenomena in Poland. Thunderstorms, including hail, and heavy rainfall are expected. Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued weather warnings and forecasts.

IMGW alerts – heavy rain with thunderstorms

On Wednesday, there will be heavy rainfall in parts of the country, during which they will occur storms. First degree warnings are in force in the following provinces:

Świętokrzyskieexcept for the districts of Końskie and Skarżysko;

Subcarpathianin the districts of: Stalowowolski, Niżański, Leżajsk, Przeworsk, Rzeszów, RzeszowKolbuszów, Tarnobrzeg, Tarnobrzeg, Mielec;

Lesser Polandin the Dąbrowski district.

Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast. The amount of precipitation will be from 25 to 35 liters of water per square meter in places, up to 40 liters per square meter in places. Rainfall will be accompanied by storms with wind gusts up to 60 km/h. Hail is possible.

The warnings will remain in effect until 12 noon on Wednesday.

IMGW alerts – thunderstorms with hail

First degree hail storm warnings have been issued for the following provinces:

mazowieckiefor southern poviats;

of Lodzfor the south-eastern part of the voivodeship;

Lublinexcept for the north-eastern part of the voivodeship;

In these places, thunderstorms are predicted, which will be accompanied by heavy rainfall from 20 to 25 l / sq m in some places. and wind gusts up to 60 km/h. Hail will fall in places.

The alerts will be in effect from 12-10pm on Wednesday.

The next day, thunderstorms with hail will move to the northern half of Poland. Level 1 alerts will apply on Thursday in the following provinces: Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, warmińsko-mazurskie and Podlaskie and in the northern half of the mazowieckie.

IMGW threat forecast for Friday

On Friday, thunderstorms with hail, before which alerts are to be issued, may occur in the following provinces: West Pomeranian, Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, warmińsko-mazurskie, Podlaskie and in the northern half of the province mazowieckie.

Thunderstorms without hail are forecast for the province Lubuskie and Greater Poland.
