IMGW issued first degree meteorological warnings. Most of the country will be affected by thunderstorms with hail. According to the threat forecast for the next few days, as soon as the storms subside, heat will take their place. Check where the weather will be dangerous.

The weather in Poland is controlled by an extensive low-pressure vortex with the center located over north-western Russia, Arleta Unton-Pyziołek, the forecaster of tvnmeteo.pl, reported on Thursday morning. The country will be within the range of two cold weather fronts during the day. Moderately cool and humid polar air flows from the northwest, and the temperature in it will not exceed 25 degrees Celsius.

– Yesterday on the coast the temperature did not exceed 20 degrees. While the water temperature in the Baltic off the coast was slightly higher – in Kolobrzeg and Ustka it was 18 degrees, and the water was 19-20 degrees – w Łeba thermometers showed 19 degrees, and the water was warmer by 0.4 degrees, the forecaster said.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued meteorological warnings and a threat forecast for the next few days.

IMGW threat forecast for Thursday

IMGW issued the first degree alerts against thunderstorms with hail for the following provinces:

West Pomeranianin the districts of Sławno, Koszalin and Koszalin;

warmińsko-mazurskie;

of Lodzexcept counties in the southwest;

Silesianwithout eastern poviats.

Thunderstorms are forecast, which in places will be accompanied by rainfall up to 15-25 liters of water per square meter and wind gusts up to 80 kilometers per hour. Hail is possible in places. Strong gusts of wind will also accompany convective clouds, not necessarily with lightning.

Alerts will be in effect from 11 am to 20 on Thursday.

There may be a first degree thunderstorm alert in provinces on Friday Lower Silesia and Opole.

Lightning may be accompanied by hail in places. Warnings against this weather threat may appear in provinces Silesian, Lesser Poland and Subcarpathian (in southern counties).
