IMGW has issued weather warnings. Thunderstorms with hail are expected on Sunday. In the northern part of the country, alerts are in place for strong gusts of wind, which will remain in effect until Monday.

Forecasters of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued first-level alerts and forecast weather threats.

IMGW alerts – strong wind

IMGW yellow alerts against strong winds have been issued in the following provinces:

West Pomeranianin the poviats: Gryfice, Kołobrzeg, Koszalin and Sławno;

Pomeranianin the counties of Słupsk, Lębork, Wejherowo and Puck.

On the coast, strong winds with an average speed of up to 50 km/h are forecast, with periods of up to 60 km/h and gusts up to 70 km/h, and periods of up to 80 km/h, blowing from the west and south-west.

Alerts will expire on Monday at 1pm.

IMGW alerts – thunderstorms with hail

First level warnings storms with hail apply in the province Subcarpathianin the following districts: Jasło, Krosno, loomSanok, Brzozów, Lesko, Bieszczady, Przemyśl, Industry.

Thunderstorms with rainfall totaling 15-25 liters of water per square meter are forecast. The phenomena are accompanied by wind gusts up to 70 km/h. Hail is possible in places.

Alerts will be valid until 6 p.m. on Sunday.

IMGW threat forecast for Wednesday

Violent phenomena will return on Wednesday. IMGW plans to issue first degree warnings against thunderstorms with hail in the following provinces: Pomeranian, West Pomeranian, Lubuskie, Lower Silesia, Greater Poland, Silesian, Opole, Lesser Poland, Subcarpathian, Lublin, Lodz, Świętokrzyskie, mazowieckie, Kuyavian-Pomeranian.
