Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued several first and second degree weather warnings on Saturday, August 31. The last day holidays It is to be exceptionally hot for parts of Poland, and in some regions there will be additional storms. It is recommended to follow weather alerts.
IMWM announced the first and second degree of heat warning
Second-degree alerts, which are related to a real threat to life or health, have been issued in several provinces in the east of the country. They concern specific counties in the Mazowieckie, Podlaskie and Lubelskie provinces. The maximum temperature there will reach 28 to 32 degrees Celsius, and the warnings are to be valid until hours 18.
First-degree heat warnings have also been issued for five provinces. They include the Świętokrzyskie and Podkarpackie provinces, certain counties in the Silesian and Lesser Poland provinces, and the southern regions of the Lublin province. Thermometers will show a maximum of 29 to 31 degrees Celsius.
Alerts also for storms. Many regions are at risk
IMWM also issued first-degree Saturday warnings against storms. They apply in the given counties of the following voivodeships: Lesser Poland, Warmian-Masurian, Silesian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Greater Poland, Lubusz, Świętokrzyskie, Pomeranian, Lublin, Subcarpathian and Masovian.
The storms are expected to be accompanied by heavy rainfall in some places – from 20 to 35 liters per square meter and strong wind gusts – up to 60 kilometers per hour. It will also be possible hail. Importantly, in the north and west of Poland, the alerts were to remain in effect until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. In the south and east, the warnings will only come into effect from 2 p.m.
